bbb Volunteer Service Report :

 

Date/Time: around 09:10 through 09:25 a.m., 2015

 

Call from : A district police branch in Daejeon city

 

Details : The reason for the call was to interpret what the foreigner, who's under suspicion of drunken driving  and came to the branch, wants.

 

According to the foreigner who came to Korea from Morroco and staying for about 4 years, 1) he had a little fender-bender while driving back home after work; 2) he drank just 2 cans of beer, Heineken (as it was allowed in Europe)

 

[Note: I reminded him, the proverb "When you in Rome, do as Roman do" so you'd better observe the Korean  law/regulations while in Korea.]

  

3) No body got injured but he's got his car damaged a little, and the opposite driver tried to give him ten

    thousand Won (W10,000.-); he didn't accept it. 4) He doesn't want to make any trouble.

 

[Note: I understood he wanted to get back his car that has been under attachment by the police.]

 

According to the District Police Branch who understood the reason for his visit.

 

1) as the foreigner's case, the fender-bender has been under investigation by the man-in-charge of the Accident Handling Unit in the Polic Station;

 

2) the foreigner will be notified in a few days the result of the investigation and whether any punishment is applied or not.

 

[I recommended the polic branch to give him the phone number of the Accident Handling Unit so that he may call if he wants for sooner settlement.

 

Well, that's all for my volunteer service done during my local trip by train today.

I was more than happy today for having the above volunteer service.
